Frequently Asked Questions

  • I work with adults of all ages, backgrounds, and concerns. The main components that make a client feel like a good fit for me are their desire to improve their lives and openness to the therapy process.

Some of my particular areas of experience are:

    • Complex and/or single-incident trauma

    • Working with healthcare professionals

    • Attachment and relationship challenges

    • Life transitions

    • Neurodivergence, particularly for those diagnosed later in life

  • I mostly provide individual therapy. However, while I am not a marriage or family therapist, I enjoy facilitating couples/family sessions. These sessions are designed to bring in your loved ones to educate them about your needs or to facilitate a conversation where you feel you would benefit from support.

As for the techniques I use, I have training across an eclectic mix of modalities. I tend to blend tried-and-true cognitive techniques with those that are more experiential.

  • I picture therapy like putting a puzzle together, and the first session is our chance to put together the edge pieces to build a foundation for our work. We get to know each other, share context on what brings you to therapy, and start to build a plan on how you’d like to put the rest of the pieces together.  Therapy is your time, and I invite you to show up in a way that is most comfortable for you.

My sessions are 50 minutes long, and the frequency at which you would like to meet is up to you! Generally speaking, the frequency of sessions is once a week or every other week.

  • You can schedule a free 15-20 minute consultation call with me where you can ask me any questions you may have, learn more about me, and see if we’re a good fit.

  • I offer reduced fees for those in need of assistance to make therapy more accessible.

  • Insurance approves coverage for therapy based on diagnoses and sets limits on how many sessions a person may receive. This can be limiting for people seeking therapy for a life experience or transition, rather than for a specific condition. In general, I prefer not to work from a diagnosis-focused mindset and instead work towards addressing the goals that are important to you. Not accepting insurance allows you to determine your treatment, rather than a third party.

  • Nope! While AI has some handy tools, I prefer to keep my record-keeping old-school to prioritize privacy. I enter brief session notes into my Electronic Health Record, but the bulk of my notes are done by hand and kept offline. Privacy concerns are incredibly important, and I take every step possible to ensure our communications remain as private as possible.

  • All art found across my website is open use art work sourced from Artvee.com. As a hobbyist painter, I enjoy incorporating art into my work when possible, through art prompts and in the therapy tools I create. If you would like to know the artist/title of any of the images on my site, let me know!
